How old do I have to be to be a scuba diver?

To be certified you have to be 10 years old

Do I need a doctor’s physical to be a scuba diver?

You are required to fill out a Medical Statement.  If you answer yes to any of the questions on the form you will need to have your doctor sign the Statement.  SSI Medical Statement

Is scuba diving the only thing you teach? 
Once you become a certified diver there are many other specialty classes available to take to enhance your skills.

I was certified to scuba dive 12 years ago.   Can I still scuba dive?

Yes. It is strongly recommended that you take a Scuba Skills Update class to refresh your skills.

Can I get college credit for scuba diving?

 To get college credit for the class, you usually have to do it through a college that accepts that credit. No agency can grant college credit for a course; a college grants that credit based on their policies. A number of agencies, including SSI, have set up their OW courses in such a way that a college will consider it worthy of credit and include it in their accepted courses. You will find it in the course catalog. Those classes usually go above and beyond the typical amount of time and training in an OW course, although they do result in the same certification.

Do you buy old scuba equipment?
No, we do not.  We do accept donated equipment.

Can you fill my paint ball tank?
We do fill paint ball tanks.  Our maximum pressure that we can fill is approx. 3800PSI

Where can you scuba dive around here?
There are several lakes and quarries where you can go scuba diving.

What is Freediving?

Freediving or breath-hold diving is a method of underwater diving that does not require the help of a breathing apparatus
